Class
Sponsor -- $500 ($20.00/ student)
Company can either
select the class in a particular school, or permit JA to select a class in need of funding. In either case,
students will be given a letter to take home to parents identifying the donor as the sponsor for the
program.
Program Sponsor -- $5,000
Have a favorite JA program or favorite grade in a favorite
school? Why not make that special JA program available for 250 students? Your company selects the JA program or
grade and school, and JA does the rest. Students will be given a letter to take home to parents identifying the
donor as the sponsor for the programs.
Whole School Sponsor --
$10,000
Whole School Sponsors
enable Junior Achievement to reach more students, and in as efficient a
fashion as
possible. Junior Achievement works closely with a school program coordinator to recruit, train,
coordinate, monitor, track, and report program results. Covers up to 20 classes (more
than 500 students!). In addition to the students being given the letter to take home, the donor is also honored
in an issue of our newsletter and posted on our website (with link, if desired) for the entire school
year.
Corporate Benefactor --
$20,000
The corporate
benefactor recognizes the impact of Junior Achievement programs, and the benefit it can have on our next
generation of business leaders and entrepreneurs. Funds received from the
corporate benefactor are put in an endowment, and competitive scholarships are provided to a JA alumnus who will
pursue a college degree in business or economics. These
are Donor Advised
Funds; the corporate benefactor may restrict the award to one school,
one county, or leave it unrestricted. The scholarship is named
after the corporate benefactor, and a Junior Achievement web page will be devoted to the corporate benefactor,
the scholarship application, and a perpetual list of JA scholarship recipients. A seat on the Junior
Achievement board of directors is offered to Corporate Benefactors.
Corporate Legacy --
$20,000 +
Those wishing to provide Junior Achievement with a
corporate legacy truly embody the entrepreneurial spirit we hope to instill in our youth. Corporate legacy donors
have the vision and progressive mindset to recognize the prudence of this
gift that “keeps on giving.” Here is how it works:
Funds received for the Legacy will supplement the Junior
Achievement Endowment, housed and maintained by the Coastal Community Foundation. The Foundation is designed to
help not-for-profit organizations like Junior Achievement grow their endowments by: 1. Investing funds in a diverse
portfolio structured for a 10% minimum annual return on investment, and 2. Limiting access to that return to 4%,
which guarantees growth of the original investment.

*A JA program implemented by Junior Achievement only
costs $500; therefore, available funds will be accessed in $500 increments, and any surplus
reinvested.
**Year 5 will make available enough funds for 2 programs
to be sponsored; therefore, $1,000 will be accessed, and the surplus reinvested. In year 10, more than 500 students
will have benefited directly from the program.
(The example is for illustrative purposes only. Neither
Junior Achievement nor the Coastal Community Foundation can guarantee the Endowment’s
performance)
Benefits to Donor(s): Though the fundamental reason for
contributing to the Junior Achievement Endowment is the genuine desire to positively impact our youth and our
communities, there are many other benefits to supporting this endeavor:
-
JA programs for our students empower them with the tools
to become financially responsible, financially independent adults. JA students become better consumers
will skills sought after in the labor force. This benefits our local economy and local
business.
-
The gift is perpetual. Students will benefit from your
support for generations to come.
-
In all Junior Achievement programs, students are given a
letter to take home to parents. This letter introduces the parents to Junior Achievement, its mission
and purpose, and an overview of the materials to be covered in the program. For purposes of the
endowment, JA will revise the letter to read:
"Dear Parent, we are pleased to make
you aware that your son’s/daughter’s class is participating in a Junior Achievement program… We are
also delighted to inform you that this Junior Achievement program was made possible through a perpetual
gift from..."
-
Unless stipulated by the donor, the classes identified for
support will be random and will cover the entire Coastal South Carolina program area. Junior
Achievement will abide by the wishes of the donor(s) with respect to school/class selection. Junior
Achievement will also honor any and all requests for anonymity/confidentiality.
A seat on the Junior Achievement Board of Directors is
offered to Corporate Legacy donors.
